The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advisory district recommends a third dose of Pfizer vaccine for children aged 5-11 years.

The New York Times reported that the CDC is expected to give approval quickly, following recommendations from the Immunization Advisory Board.

The target for the 3rd dose is 5 to 11 years old children 5 months after the 2nd dose.

Experts have recently explained that booster immunizations are needed to protect children amid rising COVID-19 infections and hospitalizations across the United States.
