Although the first intention of José Luis Martínez-Almeida was that the PP of Madrid be chaired by a person outside the City Council and the Community, the mayor has been dedicated for weeks to the idea that Isabel Díaz Ayuso be the one to lead the party in the region as will happen from this afternoon.

And her speech this Friday was one more example of it.

"Isa, here you have your

partner

", the mayor came to say at one point with two qualifiers -Isa and

partner-

that he has maintained throughout his speech at the PP Congress in Madrid in which he stressed that "the imminent president" it is "the best option" to transmit "the message of the PP of the future that she embodies like nobody else".

"Here you have an army of 85,000 members who are going to work hard for you," said the alderman, whose relationship with the president of the Community has been eroded in recent months.

Even so, the mayor continued with the praise of the regional leader, which was the general tone of his speech.

"Faced with everything the government proposed, there was always a person who never wrinkled, did not lower his face and dedicated himself to defending Madrid and the people of Madrid," Almeida said, referring to the clashes between Moncloa and Sol during the pandemic.

The mayor pointed out that Ayuso paved the way for "the beginning of the end of sanchismo" in the last elections on May 4, 2021 "from Madrid, from the capital of Spain, setting an example with our politics."

"In the face of socialism there is hope and populism can be kicked out from the polls," remarked the mayor of the capital, who charged against "those who give lessons from the Galapagar chalet or from steps in front of the Retiro."

"They can't tell us what to do"
