The farmer then spotted the car used to kidnap her goat in a supermarket parking lot, so she alerted the gendarmerie.

The two suspects were arrested.

One of the two, aged 26, confessed to raping the animal.

He will be tried next November, on charges of theft and serious abuse and acts of cruelty to a domestic animal, tamed or captive.
