Outline of high-quality meteorological development (2022-2035)

  Meteorological undertakings are technological, basic and leading social welfare undertakings.

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, relevant departments in various regions have made unremitting efforts to promote the development of my country's meteorological cause and achieve remarkable achievements.

In order to implement the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, adapt to the new situation and new requirements, and accelerate the promotion of high-quality meteorological development, this outline is formulated.

  1. General requirements

  (1) Guiding ideology.

  By 2025, the key meteorological core technologies will be autonomously controllable, the modern meteorological technology innovation, service, business and management systems will be more complete, the monitoring precision, forecasting accuracy, and fine service capabilities will continue to improve, and the meteorological service supply capacity and level of equalization will be significantly improved.   By 2035, major breakthroughs will be made in key meteorological science and technology fields, the level of meteorological monitoring, forecasting and services will be world-leading, the international competitiveness and influence will be significantly enhanced, and meteorological modernization featuring smart meteorology will be basically realized.
