To provide financial support for higher education, the Liberal Democratic Party has introduced a mechanism for master's graduate students to pay according to their income after graduation without paying tuition fees while attending school. We have put together a proposal that we aim to expand to university students, etc., and applied to Prime Minister Kishida.

Former Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Shibayama, who serves as the chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party's investigation committee that examines the ideal form of higher education, handed a proposal to Prime Minister Kishida at the Prime Minister's Office on the afternoon of the 19th.

The recommendation is to introduce a mechanism for master's graduate students to pay the tuition fee according to their income after graduation without paying the tuition fee while they are still in school, aiming for the 6th year of Reiwa, and to provide the necessary financial resources. By securing it, we aim to expand it to university students in the 8th year of Reiwa.

Until the introduction of the new system, consideration will be given to science students and households with many children, and the current system will be utilized, which allows university students to receive benefits-type scholarships and exemptions such as tuition fees.

Prime Minister Kishida, who received the proposal, said, "I would like the party to continue to consider concrete institutional design and hold thorough discussions with the Komeito."
