The Prime Minister is continuing her consultations with a view to forming her new government.

If his appointment displeases some, for Senator LR from La Manche, Philippe Bas, guest of Europe Matin on Thursday, a minimum of respect must be imposed.

"It is still the government of France," he said.

Recently appointed to Matignon, the former Minister of Labor, Elisabeth Borne, is not unanimous.

Unlike some of his Republican colleagues, Philippe Bas, LR senator from La Manche, congratulated Élisabeth Borne on her appointment to Matignon.

"It is all the same the government of France, some forget it", he explained Thursday on Europe 1. "A minimum of respect is essential and to express wishes for the success of the government of France is to form wishes for the success of the French people."

“It is not a common program to be against the extremes”

"We are in a situation all the same where the political debate is simplified to its simplest expression", continued the quaestor of the Senate.

"Today, under the pretext that we would be against the anti-system forces, we should all be with Macron, but I say that it is not a common program to be against the extremes."

The former minister recalled that a "breath of democracy" is necessary to allow "the French to have other possibilities when they are not happy with their government than to vote for the extremes".

"This is why a Gaullist, centrist, right-wing republican opposition force is absolutely necessary for democracy," he concluded.
