According to TASS, this was stated at a press conference in Brussels by the Supreme Commander of the Allied Armed Forces (JAF) of NATO in Europe, American General Tod Walters.
“Under my leadership as the supreme commander in Europe, we now have over 42,000 people and 120 aircraft in a state of high combat readiness, and more than 20 ships are also on standby,” he said.
Earlier, NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoana said that NATO expects to deploy a permanent combat group in Romania.
