According to the chairman of the municipal board, Erik Pelling (S), no municipality has previously applied for and received co-financing of SEK 2 billion.

- This was really not something we expected, he says.

Why do you think that Uppsala got such a large part of the cake of SEK 2.35 billion?

- Because we had a good application.

We have tightened the bow considerably to increase public transport.

The tramway will be the backbone of urban development.

"Not reasonable"

- I do not think it is reasonable that joint tax money from all over the country should go to the tramway in Uppsala.

When we voted to apply for money in the City Council, 45 out of 81 were in favor - it is not a strong support, says Therez Almerfors (M).

- There is a lot of money for the 11.5 kilometer tramway, which does not benefit the countryside.

In the clip, you see what happens to the tram plans after the election.
