The alarm about a fire at Fågelmyra recycling station came just before 12.30 on Thursday.
According to the rescue service, it is a rubbish heap of 50x50 meters that is burning with heavy smoke development as a result.
Resources from Borlänge and Falun are in place.
More resources have also been requested for the site.
There should be no gas cylinders in the vicinity of the fire or any danger of it spreading, the SOS alarm states at 13 o'clock.
