“Russia has no plans to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement, is not going to abandon the implementation of this most important environmental international legal instrument and continues to fulfill all its obligations under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change,” Vyacheslav Fetisov emphasized.
According to him, global climate change is the most important problem of modern mankind.
“The role of Russia in this process is unique: its natural ecosystems are key in solving the climate problems of the entire planet,” he said.
Earlier, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov expressed hope that American and Russian experts would resume cooperation on a number of issues, including the fight against coronavirus and climate change.
