An international arrest warrant has been issued against a 51-year-old father after the discovery of his daughter's body on Thursday, May 12, reports AFP from a judicial source.
Aged about ten years, the victim was found asphyxiated at his home in Haute-Savoie.
It was the eldest brother of the girl, born in 2011, who discovered the body at the family home, located in Veigy-Foncenex, a town located on the Swiss border, said the public prosecutor of Annecy, Line Bonnet , confirming information from RTL.

The house had been partially burnt down, but the autopsy concluded that "the child clearly did not die from the fire, but from mechanical asphyxiation," said the magistrate.
The father, "unreachable since the evening of the events", has been actively sought since the discovery of the body and is the subject of an international arrest warrant.
The parents of the victim were going through "a marital crisis", according to the magistrate.
A judicial investigation for "murder of a 15-year-old minor and degradation by fire", cosaisine by two investigating judges from the criminal center of Annecy, is in the process of being opened.
The investigation was entrusted to the research section of the Chambéry gendarmerie.
