A North Korean source said that five North Koreans were recently arrested by Chinese police while trying to smuggle into Dandong.

The other two fled, adding that the police were after them.

According to a notice in the name of the Dandong Immigration Bureau, two of the arrested people were residents of North Pyongan Province, North Korea, who crossed the Yalu River in the middle of the night.

It is written that the PCR test was positive for COVID-19.

Dandong City has officially denied the allegations.

The report that North Koreans entered the country illegally is false.

But Dandong is in a state of emergency.

Several lookouts have been set up that appear to be for the arrest of fugitives, and after a month of phasing out the lockdown, it has been put back into full lockdown.

North Korea has been under lockdown on the 12th due to the spread of COVID-19.

A North Korean source predicts that North Koreans who could not endure the hardships of living due to the lockdown could continue to escape.

In addition, as the World Health Organization (WHO) has expressed concern that a new mutation of COVID-19 may appear in North Korea, the Chinese quarantine authorities are also strengthening their vigilance to prevent infection from North Korea.
