There is a great shortage of electricians in Sweden and climate change means that the need is expected to be even greater within a few years.
- It feels safe with a job, you do not have to worry about the future, says Johan Lundqvist, who is in his second year of the electrician program at Ullvigymnasiet in Köping.
Most people who are admitted to the program have a job secured immediately after the student.
Despite this, the number of female applicants for the education is still low.
Olivia Pelander Djupsjö had the electricity program as her first choice.
She believes that the information must become more accessible to attract more people to become electricians.
- I think it's about information, that you can not get it, she says.
