The embassy notes that in the current situation, breaking off contacts with all Russians "does not meet the long-term interests of the United States."

“The Department of Press and Culture (U.S. Embassy. -

RT

) in Moscow will consider proposals for the implementation of projects aimed at strengthening ties and mutual understanding between Americans and Russians through concrete manifestations of cooperation between them,” the grant description says.

Priority will be considered initiatives that are aimed, among other things, at expanding access to information and increasing media literacy of the Russian people, as well as projects that contribute to "understanding the American values of democracy, freedom of expression and open society."

Commenting on this initiative, political scientist Ruslan Balbek, in a conversation with RT, called an erroneous attempt to spread American values with the help of "lured communicators."

“The Russian people have no enmity with the American people, but those whom Washington considers our people have only subservience to the United States ... Of course, there will be those who want to get close to American grants, but these people do not influence society.

For some reason, in the United States, they believe that the Russian people are sleeping and see how to create chaos in their country, ”said Balbek.

Earlier, the US announced a program to strengthen ties between Americans and Azerbaijanis.
