The alarm about the fire came in at 4pm on Tuesday afternoon and it quickly spread to a barn.

A total of 22 firefighters from five different rescue services fought the fire during the evening and night.

One firefighter had to go to the hospital during the evening with burns and another went to the hospital during the night after suffering from breathing difficulties.

- We have initiated an investigation into the fire and an investigation into a workplace accident, says Johan Wickenberg, acting rescue chief in Jämtland

- It is very unusual for firefighters to be injured during operations with us, says Johan Wickenberg.

Both firefighters were allowed to leave the hospital during the day.

Police investigation initiated

The police have also initiated a preliminary investigation into the crime.

- The heading is gross general negligence, says preliminary investigation leader Agneta Brovinius at the police.

That the crime is investigated as serious depends for the most part on the value of what has been burned.

Seven buildings burned down, including a residential building and a holiday home.

- Now we will hear witnesses and plaintiffs in the case, says Agneta Brovinius.

The police are also investigating work environment crimes due to two firefighters sustaining injuries.

Why the fire started is not yet determined.
