Previously, lending was housed in several places in Luleå, but at the end of October 2021, the moving load went to Porsöhallen.

- The pandemic has meant that many have been imprisoned for almost two years.

This is a contribution to public health because you get the opportunity to move around and you borrow the equipment for two weeks, says Hans Larsson who works at Fritidsbanken Luleå.

"Did we lend 26 items per hour"

During February and March, there was extra high pressure in the store and 3,300 items have been lent out so far.

It can be compared with previous years during the same period and then it has been about 800 gadgets.

- When there were most customers, we lent 26 items per hour plus we sometimes had to set up and adjust slalom equipment, says Hans Larsson.

"Otherwise it would not have happened"

The pressure on the store was so high that the business needed reinforcement to power up.

- Luckily, Kristin Nilsson, who studies at the university on a daily basis, started working extra here.

Otherwise it would not have happened.

says Hans Larsson.

Flippers and cyclop

During the summer, it is possible to borrow equipment during the day at Södra hamnplan, in the Luleå archipelago and on the islands Kluntarna, Småskär and Junkön during the high season.

Then there are usually, for example, logs, kickbikes, stick horses, tennis rackets, flippers and cyclops.

In the clip, you can see which loan gadgets are used first and why so many people borrow leisure equipment.
