In the LPR, the Ukrainian military who laid down their arms were involved in collecting the bodies of their colleagues

“Today, our prisoners of war have expressed a desire to help Ukrainian families so that they can find their dead relatives,” RIA Novosti quotes her. 

According to her, on May 18, with the help of the surrendered Ukrainian military, representatives of the Memorial organization, which is engaged in the search and reburial of bodies, took the discovered bodies of three military servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the battlefield near the village of Rubizhne.

She added that after collecting the bodies, a forensic examination is carried out and DNA material is collected.

According to her, the bodies remain in storage in the LPR until a clear mechanism for transferring them to Kyiv is developed.

On May 13, the People's Militia of the LPR reported that the industrial zone of the city of Rubizhnoye had been completely cleared.
