Egypt... Referring the papers of the murderer of Priest Arsanius to the Mufti

Today, Wednesday, the Alexandria Criminal Court decided to refer the papers of the accused of killing Archbishop Arsanios and Did Rizkallah, priest of the Virgin Mary Church in Karmouz, to the Mufti of the Republic, and set the next June 11 session to pronounce the verdict.

The events of the case date back to last April 7, when the Montazah Police Department received the first report that a person had assaulted Arsanios Wadeed, the priest of the Church of the Virgin in Karmouz, who was stabbed with a white weapon in front of the gate of Isaac Helmy's beach, which led to his death.

The victim was accompanied by others in a weekly meeting held by the church on the beach, and after their meeting ended and while they were on the buses, the attack occurred on him.

Eyewitnesses - 17 of them - said that they were surprised by the suspect, who had inserted a knife in his hand, crept behind the victim, and stabbed him in the neck, intending to kill him.
