A statement from the Federal National Council regarding the election of Mohamed bin Zayed as President of the State
The Federal National Council issued a statement on the occasion of the election of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as President of the UAE, in which he affirmed his great confidence in His Highness as the leader of the state and protector of the Union and its gains, loving his people, close to them, generous with them, keen on their present and the future of their generations, noting that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed will remain, as his Arab brothers knew him, loyal to their causes and supportive of the stability of their countries, and the world has known him as a peace maker supporting truth and upholding justice wherever he is, which has earned the Emirates and its people the respect and appreciation of the whole world.
The text of the statement, which was read out by H.E. Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council, during the council session that was held this morning, to pay tribute to the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, may his soul rest in peace, came: The Supreme Council of the Union, Rulers of the Emirates, to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and in his capacity as the representative of all the people of the Union, he pledges allegiance and pledges to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of loyalty and permanent loyalty, and that the Council will remain on its pledge to be Supporting the auspicious and wise approach of our leadership in confirming and developing the Shura process as an approach, the partnership between the executive and legislative authorities as a charter, and the rule of law as a pillar, and that it will remain, as always, at the level of responsibility entrusted to us by our wise leadership and our loyal people.
The Federal National Council affirms its great confidence in the leader of our state and the protector of the union and its gains, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (may God protect him), whom we knew loving his people, close to them, generous with them, keen on their present and the future of their generations, and his Arab brothers knew him loyal to their causes, supporting stability their countries, and the world knew him as a peacemaker, a supporter of truth, and upholder of justice wherever he was, which earned the UAE and its people the respect and appreciation of the whole world.
The Federal National Council is absolutely certain that, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE will witness a new stage of achievements, and the path of nation-building and human development will continue with it, and the UAE will remain a state of goodness and tolerance, a state of security and safety, and a meeting place for the peoples of the earth. For the good of all humanity.
