The prosecution calls for witnesses, after the discovery of the body of a woman, in a park, in Béziers (Hérault), on the night of Saturday to Sunday: anyone who has information likely to advance the investigation is invited to contact the investigators of the judicial police of Montpellier, at 04.67.99.35.97.

The two men, who were in custody on Tuesday afternoon, have been released, the prosecution said.

The investigations did not allow them to be implicated "in the commission of the violence".

Another man had already been released the day before.

Suspicion of death by asphyxiation

The investigation is continuing, in an attempt to identify "the perpetrator(s)" of the facts.

The analysis of the samples of the scientific police, which could advance the investigations, should take several weeks.

The autopsy of the victim's body concluded with a suspicion of death by asphyxiation, a hypothesis which will however have to be confirmed by in-depth anatomopathological examinations.

The victim also presents, indicates the prosecution, several traces of “significant violence”.

The young woman, aged 32, was found dead on the night of Saturday to Sunday, in a park in downtown Béziers.

It was a man, who said he used to sleep there, who alerted the police, indicating that he had witnessed the attack on a woman.

When they arrived at the scene, the police discovered an unresponsive woman, lying on the ground, showing signs of violence.
