Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian hosted a regular press conference on May 16.

A reporter asked: According to reports, the US State Department released a report to Congress that it plans to increase pressure on China over the so-called "horrific abuse" of ethnic minorities such as the Uyghurs in Xinjiang.

The U.S. government will crack down on "forced labor" in Xinjiang and counter "mass surveillance, forced population control and detention, and forced assimilation."

What is China's comment?

Zhao Lijian said that the U.S. falsely claimed that there are "detention camps" in Xinjiang.

In fact, the United States is a veteran of arbitrary detention and indiscriminate torture, and it is also the mastermind behind "black prisons" all over the world.

Over the years, the CIA has set up "black jails" in at least 54 countries and regions, detaining hundreds of thousands of people.

The scandal of torture and torture of prisoners has been continuously exposed in many "black jails" in the United States. The cruelty of the methods is shocking and is considered by the UN Human Rights Council Independent Expert Group on Human Rights as "a stain on the US government's commitment to the rule of law."

At present, Xinjiang is peaceful and stable, its economy is prosperous and developing, people live and work in peace and contentment, and the legitimate human rights of people of all ethnic groups are fully guaranteed.

We believe that in the face of facts, all kinds of lies and false information will be self-defeating.

The United States should face up to and reflect on serious human rights issues such as genocide, racial discrimination, human trafficking, forced labor, arbitrary detention, and indiscriminate torture in the United States, and stop interfering in other countries' internal affairs under the guise of human rights.
