In the middle of the square, the tourist office and the merchants' association had piled up roll cake, coffee and juice.

The visitors who made themselves known by the name Nora in some form also received a gift, in honor of the day.

- We're a little unsure when we started with this.

That was four or five years ago, we think.

But these two years of the pandemic have made up for it.

This year is at least the first time we can make it public in the square, says Håkan Ceder who is head of tourism in Nora.

Celebrates May 17th

Nora and Nore were moved from the almanacs published from 1993 in 2001 to 11 July.

But the tourist office, which noticed that people who bore the same name as the city often visited it for that very reason, thus decided that the day would be celebrated on the name day that applied earlier.

In the clip, you will hear some of those who received a gift to take home.
