Customs officials in Reims (Marne) were particularly active during the month of April.
They made two tobacco seizures of such remarkable volumes that their management revealed the details in a press release last week.
The first operation, the most important, took place on April 24 at the Reims tollbooth, reports

350 kg of rolling tobacco jars were discovered.
The goods with an estimated value of 161,000 euros were in the van of a 27-year-old individual from Luxembourg.
The driver was pleaded guilty.
He was sentenced to prison and a customs fine of 50,000 euros.
The other seizure took place six days later.
A motorist was intercepted in possession of 51 kg of cigarettes and potted tobacco for a total amount of around 25,000 euros.
A customs transaction allowed him to get back on the road.
