During the weekend, track work will take place north of Hässleholm, but also more urgent work between Nässjö and Flisby where the double tracks will be replaced.

Traffic between Malmö and Stockholm, regional traffic in Skåne and Småland, but also trains from the Gothenburg area to the east will be affected.

Do not buy tickets

On Tuesday, just over a week before Christ's ascension, the planning is not yet completely finished.

Therefore, it has not been possible to buy tickets on certain routes.

SJ, which is one of the train operators in the area, regrets that they have not been able to release tickets before.

- In normal cases, we usually have 13 weeks in advance, but now we are down to just under a week.

It has consequences, says Jonas Olsson, press communicator at SJ.

He says that SJ will halve the number of departures between Malmö and Stockholm during the Ascension weekend.

- We had wanted to run all departures, but the Swedish Transport Administration has not been able to deliver train paths.

Coordinate multiple systems

Bengt Olsson, press manager at the Swedish Transport Administration, responds to the criticism.

- I am the first to regret that it was not possible to buy tickets.

We have not managed to get a plan ready and hope to be done with it on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Bengt Olsson, there are several different systems that must be coordinated.

- Getting the timetable to fit together is like connecting a chicken net.

Many use the exact same track.

Making a train timetable is not static but something that lives on constantly.

Is it not strange that you choose to do this type of work during a big weekend when many people travel?

- Even though it is one of the more travel-interesting weekends, it is nowhere near how many people travel a normal weekday, says Bengt Olsson.
