The press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, said that no decisions had been made to postpone the upcoming September elections for the mayor of Moscow and governors of various regions.
“There are no decisions on this matter,” Peskov said.
At the end of March, the Kommersant newspaper reported, citing sources, that the authorities “may consider the possibility of abandoning direct elections of governors” in September 2022 in some of the regions where they are planned.
