After the violent death of two children in Hanau, the mother and officials receive help.

"At the moment everyone, the mother of course especially, but also the employees who were entrusted with the case, need intensive psychological advice and support," said Mayor Axel Weiss-Thiel (SPD).

The city is trying its best to help.

Everyone involved in the case was "deeply shaken".

Whether and what consequences should be drawn should be analyzed, said the mayor, who commented on the case on Monday evening in the Hanau city council.

Last Wednesday, a seriously injured eleven-year-old boy was found in front of a high-rise building in downtown Hanau, who died a short time later in the hospital.

His seven-year-old sister was found dead on the balcony of a ninth-floor apartment in the skyscraper where the children lived with their mother.

The 47-year-old father was arrested near Paris on suspicion of murder on Saturday.

The man is still silent on the allegations, said a spokeswoman for the public prosecutor's office on Tuesday.

Father further in France

According to the city, the mother moved to Hanau at the beginning of the year.

After family problems became known, the youth welfare office became active and socio-pedagogical family support was agreed.

As is usual in such cases, a suitable independent agency was commissioned to do this.

They now want to hold talks with him, analyze the situation and learn lessons from it, said Mayor Weiss-Thiel.

Whether there are any consequences for the wearer, "we will determine after the talks".

Meanwhile, it is still unclear when the arrested father will be transferred from France to Germany.

That could take some time, said the spokeswoman for the public prosecutor's office.
