- The County Administrative Board will once again participate in a national information initiative that aims to draw attention to invasive alien species and what to do if you encounter them.

In addition, we continue to map where invasive alien species occur in the county, and this is where public help plays a major role, says Nathalie Bjällerhag, coordinator for invasive alien terrestrial species at the County Administrative Board of Östergötland, in a press release.

This year, the authority will focus on follow-up control of giant balsam, giant locust and flower lupine in nature reserves.

They are also planning new control projects: A major measure against giant balsam around Pjältån in Norrköping, which starts in July and in Sommen, they will start controlling the aquatic plant sea gold in August.

Tips on the extinction of three invasive species can be seen in the video below.
