Finansinspektionen must "map the course of events that led to the incident, how the incident was handled and remedied, as well as the bank's controls and preparedness", it is stated in a press release.

Swedbank welcomes the inspectorate's review and in a press release announces that the bank "continuously, during and after the incident, provided information to the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority".

- The night between 28 and 29 April, Swedbank had a major IT incident that affected our customers.

We take this very seriously and we are taking strong measures to prevent this from happening again.
