On Monday, the municipality began exhibiting the yellow flower boxes and furniture on Svartbäcksgatan and Östra Ågatan.

Children at Öfvre Slott's preschool, among others, have created decorations and flag games that hang at Gotlandsparken and at Nybron.

- This is a way to increase the use of our center.

We want to reduce car traffic and increase the feeling that the streets are for pedestrians, says Rickard Malmström (MP), chairman of the street and community environment committee at Uppsala municipality.

Dots that did not go away

How much do the summer streets cost?

- Last year it landed at about 600,000 kronor and this year it will be a little more than that, the exact amount is not clear yet, says Rickard Malmström.

This is the third year that Uppsala gets summer streets and the second time that it is done in order on Svartbäcksgatan.

On Svartbäcksgatan in particular, problems arose with painted yellow and green dots that were difficult to remove when the summer was over.

In the clip, you get to know where the sandy beach should be located and what the hard-to-wash dots look like today.
