"Peato Mauvaka, Toulouse until 2026: our international hooker, at the Stadium since 2012, renews his confidence in us for 3 seasons", specified the club.

Mauvaka, born in New Caledonia, is the usual understudy of Julien Marchand, the captain of the Rouge et Noir, both in club and with the Blues (14 caps).

The player, whose first selection dates back to August 2019, marked the fall tour of the Blues by signing five tries in three games, including a double against the All Blacks.

During the 2022 Six Nations Tournament, which the Blues won with the Grand Slam at stake, he was in all the matches, which he started on the bench, generally returning around the 50th minute to replace Marchand.

Stade Toulousain, reigning European champion, lost (40-17) on Saturday in Dublin in the semi-final of European competition against Leinster.

He currently occupies the 6th and last place of play-off in the Top 14 with 62 points.

The Rouge et Noir will travel to Brive on Saturday evening, on behalf of the 25th and penultimate day of the championship.
