It is noted that the accession of Stockholm to the North Atlantic Alliance will cause "significant damage to the security of Northern Europe and the European continent as a whole."
“The Russian Federation will be forced to take retaliatory steps, both of a military-technical and other nature, in order to stop the threats to its national security arising in this regard,” the message says.
The diplomats stressed that the measures would depend on the conditions for Sweden's integration into NATO.
Also, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that NATO membership will not increase the level of security in Sweden.
