“The fact is that there (at the Zarya plant) there is a huge amount of sulfuric acid, where we found boxes with explosives just under the tanks, there is a lot of it distributed over the territory of the plant,” RIA Novosti quotes him.

According to the assistant to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the LPR, when there were battles in Rubizhne, Ukrainian troops hit the Zarya plant with artillery.

He added that if shells had hit the warehouses with acid, then “all the acid would have ignited” and all the vapors from it would go “to the territory of the LNR, to the Russian Federation.”

“It would be a man-made disaster,” Kiselyov added.

Earlier, the People's Militia of the LPR said that the Ukrainian security forces, during the retreat, mined the large Zarya chemical plant in Rubizhne.
