Putin proposed to grant the CIS observer status at the CSTO

Putin said this during the summit of the heads of state - members of the CSTO.

“It would be appropriate and correct, we will have to discuss this, to grant the CIS observer status with the CSTO,” the Russian president said.

The Russian leader also said that a whole series of joint CSTO exercises is planned for the fall of 2022, and their number will expand.
