8:16 a.m .: It's the day for the end of the mask in transport

It was the last visible sign of an epidemic that has lasted for two years.

Since the suspension of the vaccine pass on March 16, the mask was only compulsory in public transport.

This last bastion of Covid-19 will fall.

“From Monday May 16, the mask will no longer be compulsory in all public transport”, declared Olivier Véran at the exit of the Council of Ministers, this Wednesday.

Are concerned in particular the subway, the bus, the train, the plane and the taxis, specifies its cabinet.

Deadline for submitting applications?

Candidates can file a duplicate copy of their declaration of candidacy at the prefecture between 4 and 20 May, at 6 p.m.

A similar declaration must be completed for the substitute, who is the person who would be called upon to succeed him in the event of a vacancy in the seat.

To be able to access the second round, it is necessary to have gathered at least 12.5% of the voters registered during the first round.

Applications must be submitted to the prefecture before Tuesday, June 14, at 6 p.m.

The date of the opening of the official campaign?

It is the second Monday preceding the date of the poll, ie May 30 for the first round.

In metropolitan France, it will end on Friday June 10, at midnight.

The date of the first round for French people living abroad and in Polynesia?

French people living abroad on the American continent, as well as those from the Caribbean, will go to the voting booth on Saturday June 4.

For other French nationals abroad, as well as for residents of French Polynesia, the first round will take place on Sunday, June 5, according to the site of French diplomacy.

The dates of the two rounds?

Nearly 48 million French people will be called to the polls on Sunday June 12 for the first round of legislative elections and on Sunday June 19 for the second round.

Some overseas territories will vote the day before the first and second rounds, on June 11 and 18.

The start date of the new legislature in the National Assembly?

The National Assembly will take office on June 22.

On Tuesday June 28, the new deputies will begin to sit in the hemicycle.

They will then elect the President of the National Assembly, who will succeed Richard Ferrand.

And it is only on June 29 that the composition of the eight permanent committees and the office of the National Assembly will be known.

8 a.m.: The polls are long overdue

During the presidential campaign, they were everywhere.

But one month before the first round of the June legislative elections, the polls and projections are few.

And for good reason: they represent a headache for the institutes and remain risky.

“It's a more complicated election to analyze than the presidential one, admits Bruno Jeanbart, vice-president of OpinionWay.

The political offer is different in the 577 constituencies”.

Technical constraints arise, such as the impossibility of precisely questioning all the constituencies, in particular those of French people living abroad, or the absence of definitive lists since the deadline for applications is set for May 20.
