Explosion in the home of the Tunisian Minister of the Interior and his wife injured

Today, Monday, an explosion occurred in the home of Tunisian Interior Minister Tawfiq Sharaf El-Din, as a result of a gas leak, injuring his wife and taking her to the hospital, according to local media.

Radio Mosaique quoted a well-informed security source as saying that an explosion occurred at the office of the Minister of the Interior in the capital, Tunis, after a gas leak.

The source added that the accident did not result in the injury of the minister, who was in the house at the time of the explosion, while his wife sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment.

Sharaf El-Din has been the Minister of Interior since last October, and was the campaign leader of Tunisian President Kais Saied during the elections that took place in 2019.
