China News Service, Beijing, May 16 (Reporter Li Jingze) Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zhao Lijian hosted a regular press conference on May 16.

A reporter asked: On May 14, the foreign ministers of the G7 countries issued a communiqué, in which they discussed Hong Kong-related, Xinjiang-related, human rights, maritime-related issues, the situation in Ukraine, peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait and other China-related issues.

what opinions do the Chinese have on this issue?

Zhao Lijian: China's position on Hong Kong-related, Xinjiang-related, Taiwan-related, and maritime-related issues is consistent and clear. It has already expressed its firm opposition to the G7 presidency.

The so-called "Communiqué" of the G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting disregarded China's solemn position and objective facts, grossly interfered in China's internal affairs, maliciously smeared China, and once again used the Russian-Ukrainian conflict to put pressure on China. .

We urge the G7 to maintain the international system with the United Nations at its core, the international order based on international law, the basic norms governing international relations based on the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, respect China's sovereignty, and stop slandering and interfering with China in any form. Internal affairs, don't bully other countries with "family laws and regulations".

We urge the G7 to truly focus on world peace and development, stop adopting double or even multiple standards, stop sending military aircraft and ships to show off their power at the door of others, stop going to other countries to engage in "color revolutions", and stop illegally sanctioning other countries or engaging in "Long-arm jurisdiction", stop fabricating and spreading lies and rumors about China.

We also urge the G7 to assume its own responsibilities, fulfill its due international obligations, maintain genuine multilateralism, focus on global governance, and strengthen cooperation with multilateral mechanisms such as the United Nations and the G20, in order to address global challenges and promote world economic recovery. Play a positive role, instead of clinging to the Cold War mentality and ideological prejudice, engaging in "small circle" group politics, artificially creating confrontation and division, lest the world will not be in chaos.
