The shooting took place in the early afternoon in a commercial area of Buffalo.
The shooter, an 18-year-old white man, first opened fire on 4 people in the parking lot before entering a supermarket and shooting at employees and customers.
“
The shooter was heavily armed, he had military uniform, a military helmet and carried a camera to broadcast live what he was doing.
One of the security guards opened fire several times on the suspect, but since the latter had a heavy bulletproof vest, it did not stop him.

This security guard is among the 10 people killed.
The authorities believe that the young man has prepared his act well.
He reportedly posted a manifesto on the internet detailing his plan and broadcast part of the attack live before police arrived on the scene and arrested him.
"
Evil Incarnate
"
For investigators, there is no doubt that this shooting is racially motivated: "
It's evil incarnate!"
This is clearly a hate crime.

The shooter was brought before a judge overnight and will be held in custody until his trial.
He faces life imprisonment.
And following this shooting, the authorities of New York announced that, as a precaution, the security will be reinforced around certain buildings like the places of prayer frequented by the minorities.
