Sweden's PM says country's NATO aspiration is not directed against Russia

She said this at a press conference.

“We believe that this is good for Sweden, it is not directed against Russia,” Andersson is quoted by TASS.

Earlier, the ruling Social Democratic Workers' Party of Sweden officially decided to apply for membership in the alliance.

Prior to this, the relevant decision was reported by the authorities of Finland.

Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev noted that if Sweden and Finland join the alliance, then the length of the land borders of the alliance with Russia will more than double.
