Authorities said that several people were shot at a church in the Laguna Woods area of southern California, adding that one person was arrested in connection with the incident.
"Officials are acting on reports of a church shooting in Laguna Woods. Several victims have been shot. We have detained a person and seized a weapon that may have been used in the attack," the Orange County, California, sheriff's office said on Twitter.
Laguna Woods is located in southern California and has a population of about 16,000.
It was not immediately clear the exact number of wounded and the nature of those injuries.
