Scandinavian Finnish President Sauli Niinistö and Prime Minister Marin met in the capital Helsinki on the 15th and officially announced that they would apply for NATO = North Atlantic Treaty Organization.



Following Russia's military invasion of Ukraine, Finland was considering joining NATO, and President Niinistö and Prime Minister Marin had already indicated that they should seek access immediately.

In the future, it is expected that the application will be submitted soon after deliberation in the parliament.
