Lamia El Aaraje, former deputy and dissident PS candidate in Paris, is the guest of Jean-Pierre Elkabbach this Sunday, May 15.

She notably returned to the legislative elections and criticized the choice of the NUPES not to reinvest it in the 15th district of Paris in favor of Danielle Simmonet, candidate of France Insoumise (LFI).

The Union of the Left does not make everyone happy.

As part of an agreement issued by almost all the left-wing parties for the legislative elections, the LFI candidate Danielle Simmonet was invested by the NUPES in place of the socialist Lamia El Aaraje, supported by the PS federation of Paris , in the 15th district of Paris.

Guest of the morning of Europe 1 and C-news this Sunday, May 15, the socialist deplores this configuration.

"There was an agreement within the framework of the presidential elections. A basic principle which was laid down in this agreement was that the outgoing deputies could be reinvested", declared Lamia Lamia El Aaraje.

For the outgoing MP, the nomination of Danielle Simonet is "unfair and not acceptable".

"The voters in my constituency voted less than a year ago and allowed me to become their deputy. I won with a lead of more than fourteen points last year against her. Danielle Simonet presented in 2012 on the sixth constituency of Paris. She lost. She presented herself in 2017 on the sixth constituency of Paris and she also lost. We are going to invest a Danielle who lost three times against a Lamia who won once. It's incomprehensible," continues Lamia Al Aaraje.

Corbiere's response

“I have always fought for my values”

According to the PS deputy, the low score of her political family in the first round of the presidential election is not representative of the weight of socialism in France.

“We are at the head of a very large number of local authorities,” she said.

She also assured the support of Olivier Faure, first secretary of the PS, so that she is invested in the 15th arrondissement of Paris.

"He said publicly that the injustice in this constituency had to be repaired."

"I ask that the vote that was taken less than a year be respected. I am the legitimate candidate of the Union of the Left," she said.
