According to the expert, countries like China and India are torn between economic interests linked to both Russia and the West.

He analyzes in particular the place of China in the conflict and considers that the support which would unite China to Russia is to be qualified. 

According to the former secretary general of the Quai d'Orsay, China wants "to preserve essential links for them with the Western world, the United States and the European Union with which they do most of their foreign trade."
