UN Secretary-General António Guterres visited Ukraine's neighboring country, Moldova, and called on the international community to financially support Moldova, which accepts refugees, who account for nearly 20% of its population.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres made his first official visit to Moldova and visited a shelter in the capital city of Chisinau on the 10th.

This evacuation center, which is run by the city hall, is supported by citizens who bring food and daily necessities due to lack of budget, and more than 300 people are currently living in evacuation.

Secretary-General António Guterres spoke to each of the evacuees and listened to what happened when they fled Ukraine and how they lived in the shelter.

As of the 9th, the number of people evacuated from Ukraine has risen to about 5.91 million, and Moldova has accepted 450,000 people, which is 17% of the domestic population. The United States is financially supporting.

After visiting the shelter, Secretary-General António Guterres said, "I was deeply moved by the stories of those who fled after the bombing. This tragedy shows that the war must be stopped meaninglessly." Said.

"Moldova is facing a severe economic crisis," he said, calling on the international community for further financial support for Moldova.
