Politico: The EU is ready to offer compensation to Hungary for the refusal of Russian oil

Three European officials said the money is planned to be sent to Hungary as part of a new EU energy strategy to be formulated next week.

Earlier it was reported that the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, would come to Hungary to hold talks with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on energy supply.

Prior to this, Orban called the red line for Hungary the imposition of EU sanctions against Russia's energy sector.
