Eight people have been indicted in a case of violent appropriation of narcotics outlets in the Bouches-du-Rhône and in the Gard, announced on Tuesday the public prosecutor of Marseille, Dominique Laurens.
They are notably prosecuted for criminal association with a view to preparing an offense punishable by 10 years' imprisonment, and for the acquisition and possession of a category B weapon.
The investigation was indeed opened last August, after an attempted homicide by firearm committed in Martigues, on a person unknown to the police.
It made it possible to link these facts to a team of criminals practicing “coups de force” to control deal points.

After several months of physical and technical surveillance, a police operation was carried out last Tuesday.
It mobilized several units and 150 police officers, says the prosecution.
During the searches, the sum of 209,515 euros, two automatic pistols, a Scorpio submachine gun, four chargers and multiple ammunition were seized.
As well as 14.7 kg of cannabis resin, 4.5 kg of herbal cannabis, 23 cannabis plants and a batch of license plates.
Of the eight indictments, five people were placed under arrest warrant.
