THE ESSENTIAL

  • On June 12 and 19, the French men and women will elect the 577 deputies of the National Assembly.

  • The candidates of the presidential majority for the June legislative elections meet on Tuesday near Paris, while the macronie is about to complete its list of contenders, hitherto dominated by outgoing and some war prizes.

  • For the past few days, all eyes have been on the fourth constituency of Bouches-du-Rhône.

And for good reason: it is the one that propelled Jean-Luc Mélenchon to the National Assembly, in 2017. However, for several weeks, the former candidate for the presidential election has cast doubt on a new candidacy for the legislative elections in Marseilles.
