Six fire vehicles, as many ambulances, nine civil protection vehicles, more than 20,000 food rations or 56,000 liters of product to fight hydrocarbon fires left this Wednesday from Essonne, heading for Ukraine.

This is the third French humanitarian convoy since the beginning of the Russian invasion.

It was Jean Castex in person who gave his departure on Tuesday.

It includes 115 tons of equipment, donated by a thousand local authorities and fifty companies, for an amount of 2.7 million euros.

After a journey through Europe, the set will be delivered to Ukraine at the border with Romania, within 48 to 72 hours.

Transported by dozens of civil protection personnel greeted by the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, the vehicles will notably be used to extinguish fires, take care of people extracted from the rubble or evacuate the wounded, according to Stéphane Romatet, director of the Crisis and Support Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
