According to the latest news released by the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, as of 18:30 local time on May 9, the explosion at the Havana Hotel in the capital had killed 40 people and injured 94 others, including 4 minors, a pregnant woman and 1 Spanish citizen.

  On May 6, local time, a violent explosion occurred at the Saratoga Hotel in Old Havana. According to preliminary investigations, the accident was related to a natural gas leak.

At present, rescue work is still going on.
