During the formal inauguration, the Crown Princess unveiled the Polar Bread Sign, which was almost the only thing that survived the extensive fire.

When Polarbröd's factory in Älvsbyn burned down, it was a shock to the whole community and 245 employees wondered for a long time what would happen to their livelihood and many other people in the town were affected in different ways.

Jobs back

The municipal council cried over the loss and the then prime minister Stefan Lövfen (S) came to visit and promised that the government would help.

Brödbageriet's CEO, Karin Bodin, was in turn very quick to say that the business would be rebuilt in Älvsbyn.

Will more people be re-employed?

- That is the idea, of course.

That we will continue to grow and employ more people, says CEO Karin Bodin.

Industrial establishments attract the Crown Princess couple

The inauguration in Älvsbyn is part of the Crown Princess couple's journey in Norrbotten.
