A man was seriously injured on Monday by falling on the rocks, 4 to 5 meters high, in the Sautadet waterfalls, in La-Roque-sur-Cèze (Gard).

The firefighters, supported by a team from the Dangerous Environment Intervention Group (Grimp), intervened to help him.

The 29-year-old man was evacuated with the Samu helicopter to Nîmes hospital.

This very touristic site, made up of a series of waterfalls and rapids, is renowned for its dangerousness.

These waterfalls are also nicknamed "The Devil's Leap", as they have been the scene of fatal accidents for many years.
